{"id":9918,"date":"2022-04-15T19:47:09","date_gmt":"2022-04-15T22:47:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lavits.bemvindo.co\/pesquisa\/watching-jeremy-watching-me-watching-jeremy\/"},"modified":"2022-07-14T23:54:40","modified_gmt":"2022-07-15T02:54:40","slug":"watching-jeremy-watching-me-watching-jeremy","status":"publish","type":"pesquisa","link":"https:\/\/lavits.org\/es\/pesquisa\/watching-jeremy-watching-me-watching-jeremy\/","title":{"rendered":"Watching Jeremy, Watching Me, Watching Jeremy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The idea of this project came from the irony of having the skeleton of the British philosopher Jeremy Bentham (with a wax head and real clothes) \u2013 known, among other things, for designing and proposing the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ucl.ac.uk\/Bentham-Project\/who\/panopticon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">panopticon<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/foucault.info\/doc\/documents\/disciplineandpunish\/foucault-disciplineandpunish-panopticism-html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">later explored by the French philosopher Michel Foucault<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 recording images of passers-by and visitors in one of the rooms in the main building of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ucl.ac.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">University College London (UCL)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In his will, Bentham requested that after his death, his body be displayed in public, in what he called the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ucl.ac.uk\/Bentham-Project\/who\/autoicon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cAuto-Icon\u201d<\/a>. At the UCL now, it is possible to see what is left from his body in a glass case. As part of a research project called\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.ucl.ac.uk\/panopticam\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PanoptiCam<\/a>, from\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bartlett.ucl.ac.uk\/casa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UCL Centre for Advanced Spatial\u00a0Analysis<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ucl.ac.uk\/dh\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UCL Centre for Digital Humanities<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucl.ac.uk\/pace\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UCL Public and Cultural Engagement<\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ucl.ac.uk\/Bentham-Project\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UCL\u2019s\u00a0Bentham Project<\/a>, a webcam was installed on the top of the Auto-Icon watching the reaction of passers-by looking at Jeremy\u2019s remains, and broadcasts the images live online via\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PanoptiStream\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">twitter<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCDDgDE-EMc-tSyp7xy4Pk9w\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">youtube<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","categoria_de_pesquisa":[1078],"tematica":[],"tipo":[],"destaque":[],"class_list":["post-9918","pesquisa","type-pesquisa","status-publish","hentry","categoria_de_pesquisa-arte-y-cultura"],"blocksy_meta":{"styles_descriptor":{"styles":{"desktop":"","tablet":"","mobile":""},"google_fonts":[],"version":6}},"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/lavits.org\/es\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pesquisa\/9918","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/lavits.org\/es\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pesquisa"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/lavits.org\/es\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/pesquisa"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/lavits.org\/es\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=9918"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"categoria_de_pesquisa","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/lavits.org\/es\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categoria_de_pesquisa?post=9918"},{"taxonomy":"tematica","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/lavits.org\/es\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tematica?post=9918"},{"taxonomy":"tipo","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/lavits.org\/es\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tipo?post=9918"},{"taxonomy":"destaque","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/lavits.org\/es\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/destaque?post=9918"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
